About Mrs. DeBlase
Welcome! My name is Betsy DeBlase. I am very happy and thankful to be your child's teacher! :) I am a 1986 graduate of Hollidaysburg Area High School and a 1990 graduate of Juniata College. I began teaching Kindergarten at North Star in 1992 and switched to 1st Grade in 2004. This is my last year -- I will be retiring at the end of this school year. I have loved teaching first graders and kindergarteners and have gained hundreds of wonderful memories throughout my 33 years. My husband and I have 2 sons: Levi and Sam. They are graduated from college as a Pharmacist and an Architect. Our family has 3 cats: Woo, Nelly, and Thor. I adore cats, and some of my other favorite things are storybooks, stuffed animals, glitter, Fall leaves, Halloween, going to movie theatres, popcorn, french fries, iced tea, doughnuts, Thanksgiving dinner, laughing with friends, taking walks, traveling, having and going to yard sales, and being at the ocean. I hope that each child in my class feels loved and valued. I treasure many of the things the children say to me and love seeing them light up as they learn from me.
