Welcome to Kindergarten!
What a great half of the year we have had!
We have celebrated Halloween, danced our way through the 50th day of school, learned about Thanksgiving, celebrated different Christmas traditions from around the world, learned about the season changes, relearned our PAWS rules as pirates, and so much more!
Coming up: Flying into the 100th day of school on January 29th, Valentine's day parties, trying to trap a leprechaun, looking for all of the Easter bunnies treats, and the end of the year craziness which doubles as a lot of fun!
In reading we have learned to recognize our alphabet, say the sounds that letters make, blend sounds together in a CVC word pattern, and we are working our way through decodable stories.
In writing we are into our illustration unit, learning about complete sentences, and working on nouns, verbs, and adjectives.
Math class we are starting addition and subtraction up to 10! We have learned our numbers 1-100, skip counting by 5s and 10s, filling in missing numbers, counting and representing numbers 1-20.

I am Mrs. Wright! This is my fourth year teaching, but I am no stranger to North Star. I am a North Star graduate and also worked as a paraprofessional before completing my student teaching here at Central. My husband and I have 2 kids, 2 cats, and a dog.
