About Me
Hello! My name is Kaleigh Zimmerman, and I am SO excited to be in Second Grade and one of 2nd grade’s Reading teachers during the 2023-2024 school year. I have been a teacher in the North Star School District for 11 years. I spent 5 years teaching 5th grade at the Middle School before I moved to Central Elementary to teach 2nd grade. I absolutely LOVE what I do (how could you not when you get to spend each day with your little, best friends?!). I graduated in 2013 from Slippery Rock University with a degree in Elementary and Special Education, as well as a certification in Mid-Level Language Arts. I graduated again in 2018 with a Master’s Degree in Reading and a certification as a Reading Specialist. I have been married to my husband, Joe, for seven years, and we have two dogs, Milo and Milly. In my free time, I love reading, traveling (especially to the beach!), gardening, spending time on my family’s boat, and playing volleyball. I am so excited that you’re here!
